Color temperature describes the appearance of light and is measured in kelvin (K). Both 2700K and 3000K sit in the warm-white range. A 2700K source tends to feel more amber; 3000K looks a little crisper while remaining warm.

Consider your finishes and how you use the room. Compare a bulb in your space before committing to a full set. The warmth shown on a screen is only an illustration.

Start with ambient light for general illumination. Add task lighting where you read, cook, or work. Use accent lighting to draw attention to artwork, texture, or an architectural detail.

A living room might combine a ceiling fixture, a reading lamp beside a chair, and a picture light. Separate controls help you change the balance as your activities change.

For a pendant over a dining table, roughly 30–36 inches from the tabletop to the bottom of the fixture is a common starting point. It is a design guideline, not an installation rule.

Check sightlines while seated. Consider fixture size, ceiling height, and light distribution. Always confirm the manufacturer’s installation instructions for your specific light.
